Training Teachers Well

by Jennifer Craw

Finland’s teacher training schools are public schools that follow the national curriculum but have the flexibility to organize schedules and classrooms specifically to allow student-teachers and mentors time for feedback and collaboration without interrupting the learning time of students. Each of these schools is affiliated with a university. As prospective teachers try new practices, they can complete research on their effectiveness and potentially publish the results.¬†Click here to watch a video¬†with interviews and model lessons from teachers studying at one such training school.
