Doris Battle, Ed.D., serves as the Tennessee/Alabama State Coordinator for the National Institute for School Leadership responsible for marketing, client services, and instructional/curriculum facilitation. Prior to joining NISL, Doris served as the Deputy Superintendent for the Jackson-Madison County School System. She also worked as the Instructional Support Specialist in the Shelby County School District and as an Interim and Assistant Superintendent, Principal, and teacher in the Haywood County School System. Doris currently serves on the Tennessee Board of Examiners and the West Tennessee Mental Health Center Board of Directors.
Doris earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin in Early Childhood Education, her Master’s Degree from the University of Memphis in Educational Leadership, and her doctoral degree from the University of Memphis in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.
