Pam Hedgpeth

Pam Hedgpeth is Missouri State Coordinator for the National Institute for School Leadership. She oversees the state-wide implementation of the Executive Development Program (EDP). She works collaboratively with the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and through this partnership, known as MoLEAD, she has overseen EDP training for over 500 school leaders in the State. Dr. Hedgpeth coordinates and provides quality assurance for the over 50 NISL-trained Missouri facilitators. Dr. Hedgpeth served for 30 years as a PK-12 educator before working for NISL. She has experience as a teacher, principal, assistant superintendent, and superintendent. She led one of the fastest growing districts in Missouri. Under her leadership the district implemented a district-wide Professional Learning Communities concept, implemented an innovative Early Childhood Education Program which became a State Model, led the development of a curriculum process recognized as a State Model, and facilitated and implemented a school-wide Communication Plan. Test scores increased over 20 points in both communication arts and math during her six year tenure as superintendent. She also led an effort to pass a major referendum for the construction of a new high school. Dr. Hedgpeth was chosen by her peers as a nominee for outstanding superintendent of the year. She also served as an associate professor in Educational Leadership at Southwest Baptist University helping to develop a unique doctoral degree designed for school practitioners. She was recognized as one of Southwest Missouri’s most influential women.
