Margaret Reed

As an experienced educator with a diverse background of experience, Dr. Margaret Reed guides the leadership development initiative in California and oversees the implementation of the NISL i3 grant project. With more than thirty years of K-12 public school, university, and district reform support experience, Margaret has worked in fast paced, change oriented, and collaborative environments. She has had progressively more responsible experiences in leading large organizations as a secondary English language arts teacher (grades 6-12), university professor, school improvement director and reform support provider, K-6 school principal, director, assistant superintendent, and deputy superintendent of curriculum, instruction, and assessment programs, and as superintendent of schools. She has a personal commitment to promoting social justice, equity, and improving educational outcomes in large urban districts and schools.
