Examine research on learning conditions, instructional design, and pedagogical practices that accelerate belonging, identity, and agency, then identify improvement areas and develop actionable plans for success.

This offering utilizes the latest research on learner development and the future demands of work and life to help educator teams explore how to design learning environments and experiences that effectively prepare young people for long-life success. Throughout, we highlight examples from international benchmarking research to provoke thinking differently.

Teams reflect on the research, apply it to analysis of their context, brainstorm, and action plan areas for improvement. As teams deepen their understanding of student needs, community and workforce skills, and the science of learning, they are set up to experiment and iterate new practices to support their vision of success for students.

The goal is to reimagine the purpose of school to better align with the realities of today and the expectations of tomorrow, fostering learner-centered experiences and future-ready student outcomes. Teams will:

  • be inspired by international benchmarking research on the teaching and learning principles and practices in top-performing systems.
  • expand their knowledge about community and workforce skills for the future.
  • develop a shared understanding of the learning environments and experiences that elicit and accelerate future-ready student outcomes.
  • critically examine their practices and policies against convergent science principles about how learning happens.
  • identify learner-centered focus areas for improvement.
