Develop an integrated assessment and data culture so that policy-practice-funder partners make informed decisions about improving education experiences for students.
States, districts, and schools across the United States are committed to continuous improvement, but improvement cycles, data use, and assessment practices can sometimes operate in isolation—creating missed opportunities for meaningful change. Together, we’ll build an aligned, effective strategy that strengthens assessment literacy, data use, and continuous improvement.
Through a structured process, the focus is on:
- Assessing the Current State – Examine how data and evidence are currently used to track student performance and learning progressions.
- Learning from the Best – Reflect on research from high-performing education systems to identify effective practices.
- Strengthening Strategy & Capacity – Pinpoint areas for growth and develop actionable plans to enhance internal capacity.
- Creating Alignment – Use a coherence matrix to align assessment, data use, and improvement cycles—ensuring a clear and consistent vision for educators and students.
By the end of this experience, expect increased assessment and data literacy; a refined assessment program, a stronger data use strategy, and a streamlined approach to continuous improvement. This capacity-building opportunity also serves as a foundation for deeper NCEE engagements, including system design, policy work, and future-ready learning initiatives.
Transform the way your district uses data—turn insights into real impact.
