In 2024, over 280,000 teachers across 55 education systems shared their views on the leadership of 17,000 principals. Their responses and the perspective of the principals they work with can help us rethink the role of leadership in strengthening teaching and learning.
Join the National Center on Education and the Economy (NCEE) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) on November 3 at 11:00 a.m. ET for a conversation exploring additional findings from the Teaching and Learning International Survey (TALIS) 2024, this time focused on the roles and impact of school leaders.
Nardos Tesfay of the OECD will open with a presentation of key findings from the latest TALIS report: The Value of School Principals in TALIS 2024, offering an international perspective on
- Why valued leadership matters,
- Who valued principals are, where they work, what they do, and
- How they can be supported.
NCEE President and CEO Vicki Phillips will then moderate a discussion with school principals and a superintendent, bringing the data into conversation with the realities of leading schools and systems.
Together, the panel will explore what TALIS reveals about the profession, the pressures educators and leaders are navigating, and what the findings suggest about how education systems can better support the people at the heart of teaching and learning.
