The National Center on Education and the Economy (“NCEE” or “we”) cares about the privacy of each user of its website (“user” or “you”). We value our relationship with you and work hard to preserve your privacy and ensure that your preferences are honored. At the same time, the very nature of our relationship may result in us collecting or sharing certain types of information about you. We explain how we use your information in this Privacy Policy.
By using this website, you signify your agreement to the Privacy Policy and consent to the collection and use of your information by NCEE as described below.
Information Collection
Information collected
We do not automatically collect any personally identifying information about users browsing our website. As with most websites, this site automatically recognizes your domain name, IP address, browser version, operating system, and the referring site that brought you here. This information is only for website traffic analysis and is treated confidentially.
If you sign up for an email newsletter, register for an event, or join one of our membership organizations, you may be asked for additional information including your name, organization, address, telephone number, and email address. This information is collected only with your consent and treated confidentially.
Cookies
This website uses cookies so that we can provide you with the best user experience possible. Cookie information is stored in your browser and performs functions such as recognising you when you return to our website and helping our team to understand which sections of the website you find most interesting and useful. You may disable cookies on this site by changing your preferences. You may also delete these cookies on your computer at any time.
Our site also uses cookies to communicate with Google Analytics for web-traffic analysis. These cookies are collected and managed anonymously and do not contain any personally identifying information.
Use/Sharing of Information
Required Sharing
We may disclose any information we have concerning you when required by law or where we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on us.
Contact Information
Your Contact Information is used by NCEE in order to provide you with the information you request about events, newsletters, and memberships. Contact Information is also used internally so that we may send you updates about events and opportunities you may find relevant. In the event that NCEE goes through a business transition such as a merger, being acquired by another company, or selling a portion of its assets, your Contact Information will, in most instances, be transferred in such a transaction. If you enroll in one of NCEE’s membership organizations, your information may be listed in membership rolls that are only available to members of that organization via a password protected secure portal.
Financial Information
NCEE does not collect or store financial information via this website. Registration for our offerings and events may include an option to pay via credit card. In those cases, we use a third-party platform called Stripe to process the transaction. All relevant financial information for those transactions is collected and held by Stripe and not by NCEE. Users are encouraged to reference the Stripe privacy policy.
Security
We strive to protect your contact information and safeguard it from those not authorized to see it. Any contact information you share with us is protected using secured communications encryption technology.
Access
If you would like to know what contact information we have collected concerning you, please let us know by emailing us at info@ncee.org. Should you do so and find any errors in such information we will make appropriate corrections.
Preventing the Use of Personal Information
If you would like to make sure that we do not share your Contact Information with third parties, please let us know by emailing us at info@ncee.org.
Changes to Privacy Policy
From time to time, we may use your Contact Information for new uses not previously disclosed in this Privacy Policy. If our information practices change at some time in the future, we will post the policy changes to this website to notify you of these changes and provide you with the ability to opt out of these new uses. If you are concerned about how your information is used, you should check back at this website periodically.
