A new brief from NCEE explores how, in the wake of the pandemic, education systems both in the U.S. and abroad are harnessing innovation and digital technologies to deepen and accelerate learning for all students.

Teachers in these top-performing systems see themselves as trained researchers who can diagnose student needs, try out new practices, and assess their impact on student learning. While a few select programs in the United States also provide this kind of training, top-performing systems train all of their teachers this way. For more on how these systems train and support teachers, see CIEB’s Empowered Educators study or our EstoniaFinlandShanghai and South Korea education system profiles.
