OECD Countdown to PISA Webinar

In preparation of the much-anticipated release on December 3, 2019, NCEE hosted a special briefing that provided key insights on the report – from what countries participated and what was tested in 2018 to understanding what results do and do not mean – featuring Andreas Schleicher, Director for Education and Skills at OECD.

In December of 2019, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) released the results of the latest administration of the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA). The assessment tests the skills and knowledge of 15-year-old students from 79 countries and economies, and measures how they apply their knowledge to solve problems in mathematics, reading and science.

In preparation of the much-anticipated release on December 3, NCEE will hosted a special briefing that provided key insights on the report – from what countries participated and what was tested in 2018 to understanding what results do and do not mean – featuring Andreas Schleicher, Director for Education and Skills at OECD.

Schleicher was joined by Jackie Kraemer and Nathan Driskell, Director and Associate Director of Policy Analysis and Development at NCEE, respectively, who discussed key trends to be on the lookout for in the U.S., best practices for reviewing the results and how NCEE uses PISA’s findings to inform its international research.
